How to Apply


CWEF’s mission is to invest in women who are transforming their lives through education for themselves, their families, and their communities. Since its inception in 1976, CWEF has provided over 600 scholarships enabling women to pursue economic equity through education and a career. We look forward to considering your application.

CWEF is transitioning to an online scholarship application process for 2021. The online application will be open to eligible applicants in early April with a completion date of May 31, 2021, for fall 2021 and/or spring 2022 semester or quarter awards. The following information will be helpful as you prepare to apply. 

Eligible applicants must demonstrate financial need, academic ability, leadership skills, career goals, and community involvement. To be eligible to apply you must be able to answer YES to ALL five of the following items:

  • a woman at least 25 years of age at the time of the application
  • a U.S. citizen
  • a resident of Colorado for at least 12 months prior to the application deadline May 31st (You must reside in Colorado while earning your certification or degree.)
  • enrolled in or already attending an accredited educational institution of higher learning or vocational training (Applicants can be earning a certification, or associates, bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. degree.)
  • able to provide an official copy or photocopy with official seal or authorized signature of a college or high school transcript showing your cumulative grade point average (GPA)

If you can answer YES to ALL five of the questions above in an eligibility requirement check, you will be able to create an account and access the online application. Check back on this page in early April for the online application link.

The application deadline is May 31st for fall and/or spring semester or quarter awards. CWEF awards at least 20 scholarships per year and typically for $1,000 each. Scholarship funds awarded by CWEF will be mailed directly to the recipient’s school to be applied to her account. Email with questions or for assistance.
